Our client mandated us to analyse the technical impacts and to clarify the benefits and disadvantages of creating and using a Microsoft 365 tenant specific to its entity instead of using a 365 tenant common to several entities of the business group to which it belongs.
Our client was looking for specialists with excellent technical skills and also several field experiences in the fields concerned by the study such as AD Azure, license management,Teams, Exchangesoftware distribution, data security, etc.
He gave us the objective of providing him with a report that could help in the decision making process on the strategic choice to exit or remain in the holding Microsoft 365 common to his group.
For this project an in-depth study was carried out to cover all aspects impacted by the decision to remain in the global Microsoft 365 tenant or to use an independent tenant.
We began this mandate with several workshops with the client's technical teams in order to fully understand their technical environment, their way of working and their real needs.
Based on the information gathered during the workshops, we have analysed and summarised the impacts that a withdrawal of the common tenant 365 would have on the different services hosted in Microsoft 365 (notably MS Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online and Intune).
More general aspects such as confidentiality, control and autonomy were also addressed and taken into account in the comparison of the two options.
Following these in-depth analyses, all of this information was compiled in a document for the client.
At the end of our mandate a detailed report was sent to the client and a presentation was made to explain the results of the study and to answer questions and remarks.
The manager IT thanked us for the quality of the work done and indicated that it will be the key element for his management's decision making.
