At Microsoft

Data and inference are processed in the appropriate Microsoft services: Microsoft 365, Copilot, Azure. The fastest to set up when the data is already there.

On-premises

At your facility

The model, documents, and calculations run on your datacenter. Nothing is sent out. This architecture also requires the most maintenance.

Hybrid

Partly at Microsoft, partly at your office

Identity, " Teams ," and the interface at Microsoft; sensitive data, document search, or inference on your premises. The most common scenario in practice.

Next to the machine

Processing takes place near the camera, sensor, or production line: in a factory, warehouse, store, or remote location. Decisions are made on-site, with or without a connection.

Four things that no artificial intelligence project can avoid—and that we’d rather address here than have to bring up at the steering committee meeting.

A model makes a mistake

It responds with the composure of a computer program, even when it’s wrong. Each use case specifies what a human validates and what they do not delegate.

Data quality is key

An assistant working with disorganized documents will give the wrong answer. Organization and access rights are part of the project—often half of it.

The cost is based on usage

Artificial intelligence features are billed: per query, per page, per minute. We calculate the cost beforehand, and someone reviews the bill afterward.

The first case isn't the most profitable one

He pays for storage, fees, and training. The third one, on the same stand, is free. So we choose the first one because of what it offers.
