Initial situation
Our client has commissioned us to analyze the technical implications and clarify the advantages and disadvantages of creating and using a tenant Microsoft 365 specific to its entity instead of using a 365 tenant shared by several entities within the corporate group to which it belongs.
Goal
Our client was looking for specialists with excellent technical skills and extensive hands-on experience in the areas covered by the study, such as AD Azure, license management, Teams, Exchange, software distribution, data security, etc.
He set us the goal of providing him with a report that could help guide the decision regarding the strategic choice of whether to leave or remain with the Microsoft 365 shared by his group.
Concept
For this project, an in-depth study was conducted to cover all aspects affected by the decision to remain in the Microsoft 365 or to use a standalone tenant.
We began this mandate with several workshops with the client's technical teams in order to fully understand their technical environment, their way of working and their real needs.
Based on the information gathered during the workshops, we analyzed and summarized the impacts that the removal of the shared Tenant 365 would have on the various services hosted in Microsoft 365 (including MS Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Intune).
More general aspects such as confidentiality, control and autonomy were also addressed and taken into account in the comparison of the two options.
Following these in-depth analyses, all of this information was compiled in a document for the client.
Result
At the end of our mandate a detailed report was sent to the client and a presentation was made to explain the results of the study and to answer questions and remarks.
The manager IT thanked us for the high quality of our work and told us that it would be the key factor in his management’s decision-making process.
