Anynode Software Session Border Controller
Now Certified by Microsoft Teams
A few months ago, we posted an article on the “Direct Routing ” feature with Microsoft Teams. The concept behind direct routing is to allow users to make calls through a local or international carrier. “Direct Routing” or direct routing is a feature of Phone System in Office 365.
It allows companies to connect to a device Session Border Controler (SBC) so they can useMicrosoft Teams with their own telephone service provider (carrier) to make or receive phone calls.
Today, Anynode joins its competitors AudioCodes and Ribbon on the list of SBC direct Routing -certified products with Microsoft Teams. The Anynode® product is a Session Border Controler, based entirely on software—unlike its competitors, who also offer hardware versions that may be more stable depending on the number of users.
The product functions as an interface for any number of SIP UAs—that is, SIP phones, PBX SIP servers, and SIP providers. It converts information about ports and directories, ensures security, manages session traffic, and handles phone numbers.

Like AudioCodes and Ribbon, Anynode is also supported on Azure and in the Azure Marketplace.
If you look at the list of Session Border Controler certified products, you’ll see that the feature Media Bypass has not yet been “certified” by a vendor SBC. We know that the Media Bypass is currently under development, and we look forward to testing it soon.
For those who are not familiar with the terminology, “Media Bypass” means that voice traffic (the media) is routed directly between the user/client endpoint and the SBC certified device, rather than routing from the user/client to the cloud, and then to the SBC (so that the media “bypasses” the Cloud). This is an important feature for scaling and optimizing your direct routing with Microsoft Teams.
Connect to Cloud Microsoft account using nothing more than a SIP Trunk and a SBC !

What an article Can't Know
An article describes what applies to everyone. What varies from one organization to another is the inventory: which applications, which accounts, and which pieces of equipment are actually involved in your organization. The inventory determines the scope of the effort, and it cannot be summarized on a single page.
You'll be speaking directly with the engineers who will be doing the work, not with a middleman. We'll respond within 24 business hours.
