Initial situation
Our client had had an infrastructure in place for more than 5 years and did not have any internal resources specializing in the field of SCCM. They therefore commissioned us to conduct an audit of their current infrastructure and propose a new model.
Goal
The aim was to reduce the costs of its infrastructure while keeping the same performance or at least not losing it.
Concept
First, we conducted an audit and an analysis of the current infrastructure, including all the servers involved. We then proposed a diagram of the new infrastructure using Microsoft best practices .
We then configured and installed the new model we had selected alongside the old infrastructure. We conducted tests and monitored performance with the new infrastructure. Next, we trained the on-site staff who manage SCCM.
Result
- Optimisation of the infrastructure: the customer went from an infrastructure with one CAS, 4 primary servers and 25 DPs to 1 primary server and 25 DPs.
- Cost reduction: the initial infrastructure had been overestimated and our intervention allowed us to reduce handling and licensing costs while maintaining the same performance.
