Initial situation
Our client had an infrastructure in place for over 5 years and did not have any in-house resources specialising in the field of SCCM. They commissioned us to audit their current infrastructure and propose a new model.
Goal
The aim was to reduce the costs of its infrastructure while keeping the same performance or at least not losing it.
Concept
First, we did an audit and an analysis of the current infrastructure with all the servers involved. Then a diagram of the new infrastructure was proposed with Microsoft best practices.
We then configured and installed the new model chosen in parallel with the old infrastructure. Tests were carried out and performance monitored with the new infrastructure. We then trained the people on site who manage SCCM.
Result
- Optimisation of the infrastructure: the customer went from an infrastructure with one CAS, 4 primary servers and 25 DPs to 1 primary server and 25 DPs.
- Cost reduction: the initial infrastructure had been overestimated and our intervention allowed us to reduce handling and licensing costs while maintaining the same performance.
