How to use the TAPI compatibility tool

This page describes how to use the TAPI compatibility tool

The test protocol features several stages:

  1. Runing the application
  2. Selection and Initialization of TAPI Client
  3. Incoming and outgoing calls tests
  4. Notes

To make a complete test, it is necessary to follow each stage.

1. Runing the application

To run the application, double click on the icon

Zip content

After the completion of the program loading, the application will open a window

Interface

2. Selection and Initialization of TAPI Client

  1. Select inside the list the central's telephony of your TAPI Client. (The sample will be treated with Swyx central)
  2. After selecting the device you must register by pushing the Register button. You will see the connnection information from telephony central on the status box. (For sample the incomming number)

Check register

If the test succeeded, a green round is displayed with a confirmation text.
Otherwise a red round indicates that the TAPI Client Initialization failed.

There may be different reason to that :

  1. The driver is not TAPI 2.0/3.0 compliant.
  2. Your TAPI driver is not supported by our application

If the test succeeded, the next test is for calls.

3. Calls tests

Incoming call

Enter a phone number and press Dial. Your telephony central client should open and call the number you provided.
It is possible that your client application add a prefix in the phone number you entered. Please see Notes to solve the issue.

Outgoing call

Outgoing call

Call your number with another phone and press Answer.

Incoming call

4. Notes

During the outgoing call, a prefix may have been added to the number.
To know if this is the case, you have to go in the Settings Panel of Windows:
Settings panel --> Phone and Modem Options --> Advanced tab --> Select your TAPI Client --> Click on configure and check the Dial prefix.
