Preset Installer
Preset Installer is a unique software suite which enables you to improve the information technology asset management. It makes it possible to manage the configurations of the working stations in a centralized way and to have an automatic follow-up of the evolution of the configurations. Maintain the reference of the stations configurations of your park while distributing your softwares via your favorite tele-distribution software to be constantly able to regenerate a working station.
You thus effectively control the number of licences installed and especially which working station has a legitimate licence.
The problematic
Often during migration towards a new material and/or a new software platform, an enormous work is provided to inventory the applications and the material for each collaborator. Once the migration is over, the situation of the park seems clear and stable but what is after a few months?
The updates as well as the deployment of new applications change the initial configurations of the working stations which modify the state of inventory of the machines. The current softwares of remote maintenance are completely able to provide you an inventory of the applications installed but is that reflect the state of inventory of your licences?
The problem still worsened these last years by the fact that the users have more and more many sources for the installation of software "not in conformity": Internet, CD-ROM, email, Memory-Stick, etc.
Paradoxically, the time that the information technology asset management departments can devote in the search of problems on a working station is shortened. It is thus necessary to be able to decide after a certain search time to regenerate a working station and if possible without the intervention of staff on site.
The solution
Using an easy graphic interface to create your configurations and references of the "packages" of available installation by simple "drag & drop".
Once the basic configurations are created, generate your working stations by applying a basic image and by carrying out the installation run-time of Preset Installer (which can also be included in the basic image). This one will seek the configuration of the machine in the reference index as well as the "packages" to install on the machine and will carry out all the installations.
The "packages" generated for Preset Installer and distributed on the working stations via a tele-distribution tool such as Microsoft Systems Server Management (or others) or manually automatically update the reference data base. Thus it is constantly possible to regenerate a station according to the "official" configuration.
It is also possible to visualize on the graphic interface the suppressions of programs in "Add/Remove programs", the installations which were not carried out correctly as well as the updates.
Preset Installer allows:
